Our interview process is designed to allow for both the company and the candidate to assess if this partnership is the right fit.
Preparing for the interview process
Before a role is posted, our team takes the time to outline the interview process in detail. We know which interviewers will cover which competencies and what questions they’ll ask to ascertain if a candidate is a fit. This pre-planning ensures that we’re gaining a comprehensive understanding of who our ideal candidates are, exposes candidates to what’s important to the team, and helps keep each interview unique—no one wants to answer the same questions over and over again.
Building in bias reduction
Interview training is part of the process here at Candid and helps us assess candidates and provide feedback with as little bias as possible. We hold an interview alignment meeting prior to starting the interview process to ensure all team members understand the requirements of the role and their part in the interviewing process. Following their interview, our interviewers are asked to submit written individual feedback before a debrief is held to help reduce groupthink.

Technical assessments
Some roles will require a technical assessment at the beginning of the interview process. Generally, these assessments are reserved for engineering roles and are conducted using Replit during a shared coding activity. This initial assessment helps us to determine if the candidate is capable of performing the technical functions of the role and how they work through problems to reach a solution.
We’re open to improvement
We are always looking to improve our recruiting experience, both in terms of candidate experience and equity for all candidates. We’re committed to finding and implementing bias-reducing methods that allow us to truly assess skills and capabilities to make a more equitable process available for everyone.
The methods outlined above are currently in place, but we expect processes to be amended and bettered through our research and the insight and feedback shared by candidates during their candidate survey.
